Big Frank Alexander, many know was Tupac’s bodyguard and in the car following Suge Knight and Pac when he was shot on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas. Big Frank produced a book, and 3 documentaries (Got ya Back, Before I Wake, and Tupac Assassination series), in addition to being guest on many 2Pac documentaries and TV shows.
John Potash is the author of FBI War on Tupac and Black Leaders, concerning the US intelligence community tracking and surveillance of Tupac Shakur and his family. John believes the 5 attempts on Tupac’s life (in Oakland, Marin City, Atlanta, New York, and then Las Vegas) were not by chance but rather a coordinated and orchestrated sequence of events that eventually lead to the death of 2Pac: Enter Makaveli.
In the song “Against All Odds” from The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, Tupac raps “Let me take you back and lace this rap about a snitch named Haitian Jack, knew he was working for the Feds” (which is evidence for John that Tupac new exactly who was trailing him and why). Basically, John believes based on his research and interviews with key people in Tupac’s lifel (Watani Tyehimba, Michael Tarif Warren, and Chokwe Lumumba) – Pac’s road manager and criminal defense attorneys – that the Code of the Thug Life created with Mutulu Shakur and other Political Prisoners with Revolutionary Left-leaning Marxist ideologies game plan plot strategy was for “Makavelli” to take on the role of a “gangsta” in order to appeal to street gangs (Black and Brown youth) with the goal to politicize and mobilize them through his music and message.
The conversation became intense at moments, but if you are able to make it through the full 72 minutes (over one hour of dialogue) you should at least walk away learning something about each of the others beliefs concerning this important issue.
